I don't mean to butt in but I don't see how the art was too much, like I don't like foreskin being that thick to the point where it's covering the head.

But that's the only problem, the drawing features an adult, not engaging in dangerous sexual activities, and the piece doesn't feature a real life figure or anyone they met in person in some odd act of creating revenge porn.

Its honestly tame compared to what ive seen on the site before, and this is coming from a guy who was made uncomfortable by the piece.

To comment on the " i feel people would use this as a excuse to repost their art" yeah, that's kinda the point of the thread, people were allowed to share their tasteful nudes drawings for the sake of a ref. If people post it more than once then it would be a problem since it follows under spam but as far as I can tell, that was not the case.

Another thing to comment on is your claim on how it feels like a repeat of another post, while it is true, it's clear it's supposed to be a follow up to that past thread. It's a way to create new engagements and hear new opinions on the topic, seeing how threads can dry out after a day or two, plus it's better than them reposting it again and again to farm views.

Finally I would like to comment on your statement on the ai discussion. As someone who hates ai i can agree constantly seeing how it's gonna end the world be a bit tiring. But and as much as I hate using this as a point since I know how many people use this as a way to excuse their poor behavior. I can't help but to feel that your taking away peoples freedom of speech. If somethings negative or it effects others then yeah, people are going to talk about it and how to fix it or discuss their views on the subject, I can't help but feel locking the thread and deleting her comment because everyone else brings it up is a bit silly. That's like If i made thread sharing my views on the velma show and how it's god awful, just for it to be taken down because it's beating a dead horse. The thread was just about how to protect yourself from getting your art stolen by AI users, it wasn't bullying/ belittling others who use or support it nor was it looking for a army to start a witch hunt.

Look, im sure your a good guy and I'll even give you the benefit of the doubt and say you didn't do all this because you have a bone to pick with kitty hawk and your just doing job.

Im not even trying to be this " rebellious freedom fighter who stands up to the man" im just im just an average Joe who only wants to stick his neck out for his friend and her husband.

One of the best things about newgrounds is it's opening and welcoming community and to shut others out or allow users who only wish to bully or put down others users is something i heavily disagree with and im sorry to say but that fact alone will only push others away from the site.

@TurkeyOnAStick While I appreciate you making sure people in my thread stay on topic, if I had a problem with someone's post I would tell them, and if they insisted on it I would have contacted you.

I feel that less is more when it comes to moderating these threads. How can discussions evolve naturally if there's someone preemptively removing posts and locking threads? How can community grow if people don't see the point in engaging because they think their engagement will be deleted?

I'm just gonna say it.

This whole situation now has me wondering why there is so much drama in the NSFW art scene that I don't feel its appropriate to take sides.

I don't even know anymore, there's no longer a clear understanding of whos right and whos wrong in this instance. From a third party point of view, this just leaves more questions than answers or solutions.

So whatever.

Suddenly recall this OLD YouTube video of Tom Fulp at a party (on a roof?), and I tried to find it to show it's real...but it may have been scrapped? Within it, Tom talked about Newgrounds vs. YouTube in regard to the audience they retain, and how YouTube was forcing kids to lie about not being kids, and Newgrounds didn't even bother. They KNEW the audience was likely going to have children, and they weren't going to go out of their way to make kids jump through hoops to watch violence or sex.

This position may have changed? Newgrounds experienced a lot of growing pains, and the environment had to adapt as a result in order to continue to be a space that allowed new work to thrive and not just the old guard. It's the duty of content moderators to make sure the intended environment grows, and there is definitely miscommunication on Turkey's part, and maybe even among the team on what the goals are. :(

I've heard over the course of giving this drama a cursory read that @TomFulp has responded to recent developments and given an explanation of mod actions, but can't find his response anywhere. So I'm going to say plainly, I don't know everything that has happened, nor what kind of response WOULD fix this situation.

What I do know is that yelling at moderators, no matter how wrong you might think their actions, is never the right idea. Neither is callouts, crashing out, or a meme campaign bound to make matters worse between you and the mod you believe is targeting you and your friends.

Calmly and respectfully talking to Tom about your concerns and possible solutions -- like I mentioned in one of my last forum replies -- is always the better option. I don't know if you have already, but I know the situation has hit his desk at some point, so there's that.

Basically, I just encourage not to egg on or fling mud. Do document what you believe to be unwarranted post deletions and so on. But don't name-call or hurl accusations. There's a difference between, "what have I done to deserve this," and "this person is bad and should feel bad."

Re: horny/anti-horny debate situation, the solution I can see to this is a forum, portal, and community feed overhaul to allow users to select exactly what kind of content they want to see, plus an adult only forum that people could choose not to see.

Said forum would be moderated to keep things in line with explicit NG guidelines such as no hateful, exceedingly grotesque, dangerous or illegal adult content, and would be stringently moderated for spam.

Re: art portal, I absolutely cannot get away from horny art, without unchecking even T-rated submissions. I just searched 007 today and the first few thumbnails were horny. I was looking for James Bond stuff, for reference. But I guess people are tagging 007 for art in a series. So I understand where anti-hornies are coming from.

Other possible solutions:

I can't help but think a subdomain specifically for nothing but hornies, with its own game, movie, art, audio, forums, and theme would solve the horny drama once and for all. Call it PornGrounds or something.

Yes, it would require a lot of work and migration, but would it solve the complaints of anti-hornies? Yes. And would it allow hornies to exist in peace? Also yes.

If a NG user was also on PornGrounds, you would be able to navigate to their profile from NG, if and only if you were signed in and over 18, and you could choose whether to have your PG associated with your NG main or not. When searching for A-rated content, you would be directed to porngrounds, and porngrounds submissions would not otherwise show up in NG search.
